i)Name and identify the musical words.
ii) Read the passage with correct pronunciation.
iii) Read the passage with correct pronunciation.

Prior Knowledge         : Pupils have seen a few types of musical instruments during music
                                      lesson.

To stimulate pupils knowledge.


1.      Teacher picks a few pupils at random and asks them to give
words pertaining to music.

2.Teacher writes pupils’ responses  on the whiteboard.

3. Teacher then writes the topic that she is going to teach.

1.      Teacher reads the dialog with correct intonation and stress and asks
the pupils to repeat after her.



2.      Teacher checks on pupils pronunciations.

Practice
( 15 minutes)
To introduce the musical words
1.      Teacher writes the words in bold on the whiteboard and asks the  pupils to read the words.

Example:
duet, solo, choir,
composer,
medley, melodies,
orchestra, medley

2.      Teacher then calls a few pupils at     random and   asks them for the meaning of the  words.

Example of question:

What is the meaning of duet?

3.      Teacher discusses the answers with the pupils.

4.      Teacher then asks  pupils to read the phrases in Activity B in their  Textbooks: page 52, after her.






Example of phrases:

·      the performances
      of two people
·               the main singer
·              words of a
         song

5.      Teacher discusses the meaning of each phrase with her pupils.


Teacher explains the meanings.































1.Pupils try to give the  meanings by referring to the textbook.








2. Pupils read the phrases after the teacher.




















3. Pupils listen attentively.
